Blake College offers accommodation and courses, together or separately, in its rural centre on the Spanish Mediterranean island of Ibiza. Corporate bookings and enquiries from course leaders are welcome. Working holidays can also be arranged.
Ibiza is famous for its club life but it is also a unique island which has been occupied and influenced by Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Visigoths, Moors and Romans and has a thriving cultural life. In the countryside some of the older people still wear peasant dress and a timeless pace of life continues. The landscape is shaped by the distinctive traditional cuboid architecture and stone walls which appear everywhere among the forest ranges and fertile valleys.

Set among distant pine covered hills with huge views, including sea and sunsets, the College finca is terraced with citrus fruits. Almonds, olives, figs, palms, herbs and wild flowers grow throughout the land. Old and new buildings linked by pillars and porches, lawns and gardens with paths leading to a big swimming pool, a well and an ornamental pond complete a scene between blue skies and red earth. It is called Baix Forada.

The accommodation varies from pure simplicity to rustic splendour with high ceilings beamed with tree trunks, solid walls more than two feet thick. The original farmhouse has three very large double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and its own living room. Five smaller twin bedrooms are nearby mostly sharing showers and toilets. A further building offers a large comfortable space for music, reading or conversation. Breakfast is served at your convenience and there is limited access to the kitchen.
Although the neighbourhood is totally unspoiled and Baix Forada is half a km off a minor road, there is a local bar and a small shop a short and pleasant walk away, it is 4kms to the village of San Rafael, 6kms to the nearest beach and the town of Ibiza is only 11kms away.
Come early in the year when the flowering of the almonds is reminiscent of Japanese cherry blossom time and springtime is sprouting from the earth.
Come in the summer and relax in the countryside before and after late nights, dancing till dawn or stargazing in the moonlight.
Come later in the year away from urban stress and cold grey skies to warm weather, perfect peace and the refreshing rhythms of nature.
